City reviews smoking ruling (Austin American-Statesman)

No plans yet to change enforcement, officials say. The City of Austin is still reviewing a judge's decision to strike down portions of a year-old smoking ban and has not decided how to change its enforcement of the ordinance to comply with the ruling, officials said.

Smokers could face $500 fines (KVUE Austin)

Smokers could now face $500 fines for lighting up in Austin bars and clubs. That follows a federal judge's decision gutting some of Austin's smoking ban.
