That is a dreamy prospect for those who wish to stop smoking, though presumably less so for those who wish to continue to smoke, never mind the consequences.

A ban on smoking in public spaces came into effect Thursday, a change that may alter the image of a country defined in part by its smoky cafes and cigarette-puffing intellectuals. France's 15 million smokers will be banned from lighting up in workplaces, schools, airports, hospitals and other "closed and covered" public places.
Stop-smoking drug wins Health Canada approval (CBC)
Health Canada has approved Champix, a new drug designed to help people quit smoking. The drug, which is combined with counselling, boasts a 22 per cent success rate. That's slightly better than Zyban, the only other stop-smoking drug on the market that isn't nicotine-based.
